A interação entre literatura e cinema no espaço ficcional da Cataguases de Luiz Ruffato: uma proposta de letramento literário e ampliação de repertório

Abstract

This work presents a proposal for pedagogical intervention that was applied in a public school, situated in the city of Cataguases, Minas Gerais, in a ninth grade class, with the objective of bringing students closer to the universe of literature, by promoting literary literacy and expansion of the young reader's repertoire. In this regard, we started from the premise that the presence of the physical space of the city of Cataguases in the short story Amigos and in the novel Estive em Lisboa e Lembrei de você, both of the cataguasense writer Luiz Ruffato, and in their respective film adaptations, the films Redemoinho and Estive em Lisboa e Lembrei de você, would motivate the students for this pedagogical action. In this way, we organized the work in four steps, including an initial motivational situation. In these stages, besides the fictional space, were also focus of study the other categories of narrative, as well as the process of cinematographic adaptation of literary works. We support, for this, in the following theoretical contributions: the right to literature (Candido, 2011); the literary literacy concept (Cosson, 2016, 2018; Paulino and Cosson, 2009); the text repertoire (Iser, 1996); the conception of reader communities and shared reading (Colomer, 2007); the literary space (Abdala Junior, 1995) and the adaptation phenomenon (Hutcheon, 2013). Aiming the confluence between theory and practice, we adopted the action-research methodological orientation to this intervention process, according to Thiollent (1986). The results confirmed the initial hypothesis, once the recognition of the cataguasense space in the works was the main motivation factor for the students throughout the interventional route.
