Os alicerces da ruína: aproximações entre arte e mito no século XXI

Abstract

If we delve into the comparisons between the possible definitions of 'myth' and those of an 'art object', can we find any mythological foundation in the current idea of 'art'? Does this approximation, even if implicitly, influence the social imagination and validate contemporary productions? This question arises from the intersection between the concept of “The Artworld”, created by Arthur Danto, and the ideas of Roland Barthes, related to the study of mythologies. Through an interdisciplinary undertaking of the intersection of art with myths, rituals, and socioeconomic influences, the pervasive influence of the capitalist system on the contemporary conception of art is addressed. From these theoretical approximations, a reflection is built on the evolution of the idea of art, tracing its trajectory from the avant-garde to its reconceptualization as a 'specific experience' in the contemporary artistic panorama.
