Transformação social e arquitetura, dos modelos punitivos aos socioeducativos: a importância da ressocialização de jovens infratores

Abstract

This project aims to present how Architecture and Urbanism can be important tools in the process of re-socializing young offenders, supporting a proposal for a socio-educational unit in the municipality of Juiz de Fora - MG. The initial proposal is the presentation of a center that accommodates teaching, leisure, follow-up and health activities. Through a bibliographic review, the relationship between socio-spatial issues and the phenomenon of incarceration of young offenders was demonstrated. In addition, a historical perspective of the evolution of concepts and practices related to prison and socio-educational systems was presented, indicating the discrepancies between current socio-educational thinking and the regulated measures in the Brazilian scenario. Specifically in the socio-educational context in the city of Juiz de Fora, the absence of specific legislation, the location of existing socio-educational units and their inadequate format for the socio-educational proposal, indicates that the removal of the image of a prison system linked to equipment is beneficial. It is concluded that the issue that addresses the minor offender is complex and demands analysis of the political, social, cultural and economic context, being these determining factors that produce complex individuals. It is understood that the theme can only be fully contemplated through multidisciplinarity and this is how the search for different perspectives in the foundation of the work is characterized.
