Uma investigação sobre processos de aprendizagem observados em alunos dos anos finais do ensino fundamental participantes das feiras nacionais de matemática

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the learning processes in students participating in the National Mathematics Fairs. The importance of the Santa Catarina Mathematics Fairs movement is highlighted in the continuing education of teachers and for the teaching and learning of Mathematics. To proceed, we used the methodology of qualitative research, seeking to understand the processes of participation of subjects in Mathematics Fairs. For this, we carried out a bibliographical research of other Theses, Dissertations, Bulletins and Articles that discuss about the Mathematics Fairs and their contributions in several aspects, such as the realization and organization of the Fairs, the continuing education of the teacher, the learning and inclusion of the students. . In addition, we investigated the Annals of the National Mathematics Fairs in order to obtain information about the works already carried out and the participants. With the objective of seeking information about the experiences of the exhibiting students and mentoring teachers, we used two virtual questionnaires and conducted some interviews with the participants, to understand the influences of their participation in the Fairs on their social, cultural and human formation. Through these reports we perceive aspects in the development of mathematical concepts and in learning. We observed in the students' reports that during the process and presentation of the works, even if partially, they developed some characteristics such as communication, autonomy and creativity. In addition to observing the importance of Mathematics in everyday life and in other areas of knowledge, contributing to the relationship of this student with School Mathematics.
