Reflexões acerca da dimensão socioeducativa do trabalho profissional do assistente social: uma análise crítica a partir do cotidiano profissional nos Centros de Referência de Assistência Social de Juiz de Fora/MG

Abstract

This dissertation aims to understand the social-educational dimension of the social worker's professional work and how it is processed in the professional daily life. We start from the hypothesis that this dimension is constitutive of the profession and articulates with the other dimensions of professional work, having the potential to influence the ways of thinking and acting of the subjects. To achieve this goal and to verify our hypothesis we conducted a bibliographic research, based on authors who contribute to reflect on the subject under study by a critical bias, as well as the data from an empirical research conducted in the Reference Centers of Social Assistance of. Juiz de Fora / MG, which was composed of two complementary stages - the participant observation stage and the in-depth interview stage. Moreover, throughout this dissertation we seek to understand the elements that shape the current scenario of capitalist sociability, since they bring impacts to social policies, social-occupational spaces and the professional work of social workers. In the study of the socio-educational dimension, we also consider it necessary to grasp the historical trajectory of the profession, the dimensions of professional work, the elements that permeate the professional routine, the socio-educational actions developed by social workers, as well as the limits and possibilities that exist.
