A educação estatística e a elaboração de vídeos para a promoção do raciocínio sobre variabilidade na educação básica

Abstract

The present research sought to investigate if it is possible to enhance the understanding of the concept of variability through videos on Statistical Education. The objective is to construct and develop the reasoning about variability through the production of educational videos made available on Estatisfera, a YouTube channel. The Systematic Literature Review has shown that there are few researches that addresses the reasoning about variability in Basic Education, an important skill in the development of statistical literacy (GAL, 2002) in student training. This study was conducted methodologically by some elements of Didactic Engineering according to Almouloud (2007). The videos created from the workshop results were analyzed by teachers and students through a validation tool. The analysis of the responses aided by the CHIC (Cohesive Hierarchical Implicative Classification) software showed that the videos have the potential to reach the proposed objectives, despite some criticism regarding the methodology addressed in the videos that will be considered in the construction of the next videos. There was also an improvement in the conception of the concept of variability of survey participants after watching the videos.
