SLAM Cultura de periferia como forma de resistência através da arte

Abstract

The present project will show a teacher experience in early childhood education (work done with 5th graders) when they get to know the cultural manifestations with roots in poor communities. To develop this project, students were presented to SLAM (a type of cultural expression that has been growing and gaining space in our country). SLAM are poetry battles where competitors "open their heart" and report day-by-day scenes. As after the students meet poets who through their work extol an everyday known to them, they are radiant and happy. The ego's growth of these children and young people and the multiplication of learned values (the children pass on to their parents what they have learned, thus generating a wave of cultural valorization). I will try to show the growth of this cultural manifestation, and their teachings (to figure against violence with books). The importance of supporting young people from suburb communities to have access to different types of culture so that they can become conscious and complete citizens. I will write about the SLAM Pira VDC, a project developed by a pedagogue and historian at a municipal school in the city of Santos. I will try to present the problems encountered in order for the SLAM to be disclosed and accepted.
