Abstract: Nowadays, there is an increase in the number of adherents to conservative trends in political and religious movements in Brazil and in the world. Within Catholicism, there are the "so-called" traditionalists, representatives of the ultraconservative wing of the Church. The "traditionalists of Campos" are divided between the apologetic ideas of the Council of Trent, the demands of the (post) modern society and the reform proposed by Vatican II, needing to adapt to their way of communicating their antimodernist ideal without breaking their idealized identity. A new identity (the Personal Apostolic Administration of St. John Mary Vianey) is produced within a plurality of identities, communicating with them, even if denying them - the Post-Council Church and the society in which it is inserted. Thus, in this research we intend to analyze the discursive ethos of Father / Dom Rifan, in his books "Quer agrade e desagrade" written as spokesman for the schismatic Union of Saint John Mary Vianney, and the book "Sementes" which was written as a bishop and apostolic administrator of the said Apostolic Administration, from the methodology and theoretical reference of the Analysis of the Discourse of French affiliation, for the understanding of the diy made by the current bishop administrator who constitute the neotraditionalism of the Apostolic Administration are John Maria Vianney, which, inspired by his leader, develops a postmodern antimodernism.
