Distorção idade-ano nos anos finais do ensino fundamental da Escola Estadual Esperança - Manaus/AM

Abstract

The present dissertation was developed under the Professional Master in Management and Evaluation of Education (PPGP) of the Center for Public Policies and Education Evaluation of the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (CAEd / UFJF). The management case discusses the age-year distortion in the final years of Fundamental Education at Esperança State School, located in the city of Manaus/AM, and has the following guiding question: How can the management team articulate intraschool and extracurricular factors in a way that can contribute to the reduction of the quantitative number of students in age-year distortion at Esperança State School? This work has as general objective to analyze the actions implemented by Esperança State School that has contributed to the reduction of the age-year distortion indices. The specific objectives defined for this study are: i) describe the educational scenario in relation to the age-year distortion and, specifically, the students' lag of the Esperança State School, ii) analyze the management team's actions and directions related to age-year distortion indexes and iii) propose intervention actions aimed at reducing students in age-year distortion in the final years of Elementary School. To do so, we will use as methodology the qualitative approach, and as instruments of data collection the conduct of interviews, besides the application of the questionnaires to the subjects involved in the investigated case. The intention was to obtain data that support the development of an intervention plan that contemplates practices that provide improvements in the school scope. For the analysis we count on the theoretical contributions of the studies produced by Prado, Setúbal, Oliveira, Paro, Alves, Luck and Jacomini, who analyze in their studies management models and strategies to be directed with regard to improvements in the educational process.
