Abstract: This work analyzes the implementation of a didactic sequence on sex education in Biology teaching, addressing Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), from the perspective of David Ausubel's (1918–2008) theory of meaningful learning. Ausubel, an American psychologist, proposed this theory as a counterpoint to rote learning and behaviorism. The study was conducted with third-year high school students at the Maria da Silva Rocha State School in the municipality of Franciscópolis/MG. The researcher is a Biology teacher at the school and conducted the research within the context of his teaching. The didactic sequence on STIs was part of the regular curriculum and formed the basis for the development of this descriptive, qualitative research, which adopted the focus group technique for data collection. As a final product, a digital educational booklet was created for Biology teachers, consolidating the knowledge built throughout the application and evaluation of the teaching proposal aimed at students.
