| Resumo: | O presente estudo destina-se ao esclarecimento do papel da diplomacia presidencial no alinhamento da política externa com os preceitos próprios dos direitos humanos. Almeja-se, assim, explorar a extensão do impacto da ação diplomática presidencial na opinião pública, doméstica e internacional, e sua compatibilidade com os tratados e acordos reconhecidos pela constituição pátria e pelo direito internacional. Para tanto, visitar-se-á casos emblemáticos da história da diplomacia moderna e contemporânea, com o fito de apresentar, sem a intenção de assim esgotar, o potencial resultado dos atos presidenciais no destino de seu país e, não raramente, do mundo. |
| Abstract: | The present research aims to clarify the role of presidential diplomacy in aligning foreign policy with the precepts of human rights. The intent is, therefore, to explore the extent of the impact of presidential diplomatic action on public opinion, domestic and international, and its compatibility with the treaties and agreements recognized by the country's constitution and by international law. To this end, emblematic cases in the history of modern and contemporary diplomacy will be visited, with the purpose of presenting, without intending to exhaust, the potential result of presidential acts in the future of its country and, not infrequently, of the world. |
