O sistema penitenciário e o adoecimento físico e mental dos policiais penais

Abstract

The present work has as its theme to analyze the recurring physical and mental illness of specific professionals in the area of public security in the prison system, the Criminal Police. Configuring a little-entered universe, in which the eyes tend to turn to the violations of inmates' rights, it is sometimes forgotten that workers responsible for guaranteeing security in prison establishments are also included there. A closer look can bring great contributions to the entire penal structure, for that, the study addresses a brief historical contextualization of the Brazilian penitentiary system, as well as when dealing with the position of these professionals, it points out current legislative changes on the career, in addition to bringing bibliographic surveys. of studies already carried out, with the objective of presenting the struggles suffered by these professionals and the consequences generated. Finally, as a hypothesis, the objective and subjective responsibility of the State for the physical and mental illness of criminal police officers, resulting from the violation of fundamental rights, such as the dignity of the human person and the work environment.
