Baiano também é português: o intelectual português e seu olhar sobre o Brasil

Abstract

The analysis of the intellectuality and its role as one of the agents of social and cultural changes has been gaining ground in contemporary literary production. Under this view, the objective of this research is to identify some questions about the identity of the intellectual in contemporary life, especially the intellectual in transit, constituting, as literary corpus, Inês Pedrosa´s novel, A eternidade e o desejo, and how it is presented in the literary criticism perspective. The reflections are going to hapen around the identification of a specific profile of the observing subjects of contemporary society: the Portuguese writer and her eyes on Brazil, to discuss her role and analyze her speech. These reflections are going to be permeated by the analysis of the relations between Brazil and Portugal punctuated by these individuals over the time, in order to adequately elucidate the production of thought, though, never putting aside the focus of the literary object.
