O lugar entre tantos: Akram Zaatari, memórias e experiências

Abstract

This work deals with the construction of the “place” in art, based on a work by the Lebanese artist Akram Zaatari, who delivers, in the title, the motto and methodology of his approach: Beirut Exploded Views. In this study, which is also crossed by the researcher's memories, we intend to discuss the methodological and poetic path taken by Zaatari, relating it to the paths and works of other artists aimed at reflecting on the “place”, in its varied contexts and approaches. The research is divided into five chapters, including the author's encounter with the subject and artist, the exploration of Zaatari's methodology and the relevance, for the construction of the “place”, of its spatial, temporal, mnemonic and fictional layers.
