| Resumo: | Este trabalho aborda o direito à educação dos povos ciganos no Brasil. Para tanto, foi realizado um breve apanhado de elementos históricos, aliados a elementos culturais, prosseguindo então para uma análise da legislação pertinente ao tema. Tais itens foram interpretados através de bibliografias diversas, como Boto, Dubet, Goffmann e Wolkmer, junto a exemplos internacionais das medidas adotadas em outros países. Através destas abordagens, este trabalho demonstra a flagrante invisibilidade dos ciganos, o que prejudica a garantia de seus direitos fundamentais – incluindo o direito à educação. Aborda-se ainda o movimento transnacional cigano, e as possibilidades a serem aplicadas no caso brasileiro. |
| Abstract: | This paper approaches the right to education for Roma gypsies in Brazil. For this purpose, it brings a brief compendium of historical elements, articulated with cultural elements, proceeding then to an analysis of the legislation pertinent to this subject. Those elements were interpreted through different bibliographies, such as Boto, Dubet, Goffmann and Wolkmer, along with international examples of measures adopted in other countries. Through these approaches, this paper depicts the flagrant invisibility of Roma gypsies, which hinders the guarantee of their fundamental rights – including the right to education. Furthermore, it discusses the transnational gypsy movement, and the possibilities for the Brazilian case. |
