Desfiar a tradição, criar outra urdidura: o gesto tecedor na poesia brasileira contemporânea

Abstract

Aiming to outline the presence of the weaving gesture in contemporary Brazilian poetry, this study focuses on three poetic textualities: the book Fia, by Jussara Salazar (2016), the series of poems “A memória das mãos”, by Mônica de Aquino (2018), and Linha de costura, by the artist and writer Edith Derdyk (2010). Based on a historical overview of textile practices, our investigation aims at the poetic texts in order to point out which weaving images and procedures emerge in the literary works. In addition to the representative dimension, we argue that the evocation of the weaving gesture offers paths to elaborate a way of thinking and writing. Therefore, we assume the hypothesis that the textualities studied in this thesis are part of a corrosion lineage of literature in view of the relation that they stablish with occidental tradition imaginary regarding weaving and writing gestures. The discussions elaborated during this research were based on the feminist literature (and other areas) criticism through the propositions of Gilbert and Gubar (2000 [1979]), Elaine Showalter (1994), Rosiska Darcy de Oliveira (2012 [1991]), Lucia Castello Branco (1994), Paola Tabet (2005 [1979]) and Roszika Parker (2010 [1984]).
