O ensino de genética através do mapeamento dos grupos sanguíneos de alunos de uma escola pública de Minas Gerais

Abstract

Studies have shown that several students have difficulties in understanding topics related to genetics, including the ABO system and Rh factor, since this knowledge is transmitted in an abstract way, making the understanding difficult. Despite of the complexity of the subject, the knowledge of this topic is important, regarding blood transfusions, making the self-knowledge of blood groups encouraged among students to assist in the formation of future donors. In addition, in a context of blood donor selection, it is also important to raise discussions regarding organ donation and transplantation. It is of great importance that when the content is part of the students' reality, they are more interested in learning and, consequently, the results are more satisfactory. It is also worth mentioning that it is important to work with students on strategies that encourage reading and writing, especially in high school, which is a decisive phase in the selection process for entering Universities. In this sense, the objective of this study was to create strategies to facilitate the learning of blood groups inheritance and Rh factor, as well as, on organ transplants and donations for high school students, through the use of a booklet of support to the teacher, who guides him to instruct students to perform textual productions in different genres and with themes related to the ABO system and Rh factor, as well as organ transplantation and donation. The research was developed with students from the 3rd year of high school, who carried out the production of books, guided by the professor of Biology and made the presentation of the themes, to the school community, at the Science Fair and the Book Fair.
