Abstract

The present dissertation is developed under the Professional Master in Management and Evaluation of Education (PPGP) of the Center for Public Policies and Education Evaluation of the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (CAEd / UFJF). The management case to be studied discusses how the Extraclass Activity Hours take place in the Paulo Freire School in the State of Minas Gerais, understanding these as an achievement for the teaching work. The general objective of this research is to analyze the role of school management in guaranteeing the organization, compliance and quality in the use of the time allocated to the Extraclass Activity Hours. The specific objectives are to describe the context of implementation of the Hours of Extraclass Activities at national, state and at the school studied; analyze and critically understand the organization and operation of the Hours of Extra-Class Activities held at the school in question; evaluate the management practices in order to contribute so that the faculty make the best use of this moment. The main authors that base the theoretical reference are: Heloísa Lück (1992, 2000, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009 and 2010) on management, Maria Auxiliadora Monteiro Oliveira, Maurice Tardif and José Carlos Libâneo, Libâneo (2011) and Tardif (2002) , 2003, 2010 and 2012) on knowledge and teaching work, Nóvoa (1992 and 2001). The research was carried out by means of an interview answered by the supervisors, as well as the application of a questionnaire to the teachers. The objective of this study was to analyze the impact caused by Law 11,738 / 2008 - Law on the National Floor of the Magisterium, specifically after the implementation of LC # 613/2011 through the analysis of the opinions of education professionals at the Paulo Freire School, as well as investigating the way extraclass activities are being developed. From this objective, some specific ones unfold in the sense of assisting in the development of the research as the description of the context of implementation of the Hours of Extraclass Activities at national, state and in the studied school; the analysis and critical understanding of the organization and the operation of the Hours of Extra-Class Activities held at the school in question; the evaluation of management practices in order to assist in the fulfillment of these Hours. We assume as a hypothesis that compliance with Hours of Extracurricular Activity, despite being agreed by law, there is still a way to be followed so that teachers and supervisors can take advantage of them in the best possible way and, with this, they can optimize their work. After the description and analysis of the data, obtained through the interviews and research, it was found that although there is compliance with the hours of extracurricular activities in the school being researched, it is still necessary for the management to seek to better monitor the teachers, as well as to provide a space appropriate to meet those hours. Therefore, the Educational Action Plan (PAE) aims to propose articulated actions for adjustments in the design of the functions developed by Management.
