Abstract: The purpose of this research is to analyze possible influences of personality traits in the decision making of an organization. It adopted the personality conception of Claudio Naranjo to understand what and which personality traits are to be investigated. The empiricist of this TCF initially counted on semi-structured interviews to diagnose which were the personalities of 8 managers willing to participate in this research. These managers were part of a total of 9 of an advanced campus of a federal university in the state of Minas Gerais. Subsequently, questionnaires developed by Riso and Hudson (1999) were applied to strengthen the interview results. After this stage, new semi-structured interviews were carried out, not only with the managers, but also with 2 subordinates to each one of them to collect information that allowed to characterize and understand how the choices of their deliberations were made. Finally, we investigated relations between the manager’s personality traits and the decision-making process they performed or participated in through the comparison of the discourse analysis of these interviews with bibliographical information about their personality traits. I understood, from these investigations, how the personality traits of the managers influenced the choice of their decisions and the decision-making process of the sectors they administered. Due to this understanding, I found that some traits that characterized them made their decision making misleading the optimizing of results that were favorable to organizational goals.
