Mercosul e Asean - estudo comparativo sobre cláusulas de direitos humanos e suas aplicações em blocos econômicos

Abstract

The present research project intends to create the basis for comparative studies of Human Rights clauses and agreements produced by the member countries of the MERCOSUR and ASEAN, considering that texts making a comparison between these two economic blocs are rare, if not inexistent. By working with the similarities and differences existent in these groups, from their creation until their present state of development, the main aim of the research is to develop a connection relating the advances made by both of them in that field, in order to share the knowledge and means obtained by such regional integrations through the years. Not only that, an analysis of the possible difficulties that could be met while developing and applying plans aimed to the protection of Human Rights will be conducted, such as cultural, economical and political differences that exist between the nations involved. With this, the final goal of this project is to search for the best method of dealing with Human Rights amongst regional and inter-regional organizations, in a way that allows these blocs to benefit from the methods already employed or either being employed by other groups.
