Para uma política de avaliação em larga escala na rede estadual de educação básica de Mato Grosso

Abstract

This dissertation analyzed the need and deployment conditions of a public policy evaluation in large scale in high school from Mato Grosso. What we have, at present, in terms of assessment in this state, is the application of some national studies were drawn up by the Basic Education Evaluation System (SAEB), seeking to assess the quality of education in the Brazilian context. From the placement of the data from the exams, is attested, in fact, the fragility of high school, from Mato Grosso bush, as the results of proficiency in Portuguese Language and Mathematics revealed poor performance in relation to other states. Index such as avoidance, retention and agegrade are some of the main variables that inevitably reflected in such performance. In this sense, it was established that the indicators produced by SAEB are insufficient for effective monitoring of state education policy. Thus, we propose the implementation of proper evaluation policy of this State, presented on the basis of theoretical rules of Edward Kifer (2001). This model points to the necessity changes of the administrative management of education, and, from that, the reformulation of the possible failures of the education system.
