| Abstract: | This work analyzes six articles from the series “A mão invisível das Big Techs”, a journalistic investigation conducted by the Agência Pública (Brazil) and the Latin American Center for Investigative Journalism (CLIP), in partnership with more than fifteen media vehicles from different countries. The research seeks to understand how investigative journalism constructs narratives about the power of the large technology companies, with special attention to the Meta conglomerate, highlighting its strategies for political articulation and institutional influence. A qualitative approach is adopted, based on content analysis, which allowed the identification of narrative patterns and thematic recurrences in the analyzed articles. The results indicate that the investigation presents the Big Techs as relevant political actors, whose actions manifest themselves through lobbying practices, approaches to public agents, and the strategic use of discourses associated with freedom of expression and innovation. The reports also highlight the impacts of these strategies on decision-making processes, regulatory instancies, and the functioning of democratic institutions, revealing attempts to strain, delay, or block regulatory initiatives |
