Olhares que acendem memórias: a percepção infantil do patrimônio cultural no Quartel Central do Corpo de Bombeiros Militar do Estado do Rio de Janeiro

Abstract

The present study aims to analyze children's perceptions of the historical and cultural heritage of the Central Headquarters of the Military Fire Department of the State of Rio de Janeiro, based on mediated visitation experiences at the CBMERJ Museum. The research sought to understand how children construct meanings, memories, and affective bonds with the institutional heritage, considering the museum as a space of non-formal education, educational tourism, and civic formation. As a methodology, activities were analyzed, particularly the drawings produced by the children after the visit, combined with participant observation and bibliographic research, grounded in studies on heritage education and museum mediation. The research is based on the understanding that children's perspectives reveal dimensions of heritage cultural that are often rendered invisible by traditional approaches, contributing to more sensitive, participatory educational practices aligned with the everyday lives of the subjects.
