Turismo no espaço rural e enoturismo como vetores de desenvolvimento regional em Teresópolis (RJ)

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze how rural tourism and wine tourism can contribute to regional development processes in the municipality of Teresópolis, located in the mountainous region of the state of Rio de Janeiro. This is a qualitative and exploratory research, grounded in a literature review and documentary analysis. Data collection included academic publications, institutional documents, and content available on the official website of the Teresópolis Municipal Government, using keyword searches related to the theme to identify initiatives, attractions, and enterprises associated with these activities in the municipality. The results highlight the existence of a territorial base composed of family farming activities, natural resources, and emerging wine tourism initiatives, indicating varying levels of consolidation within these segments. Simultaneously, challenges were identified regarding the organization of supply, integration among local stakeholders, and the lack of structured tourism routes. The analysis suggests that rural tourism and wine tourism can contribute to regional development dynamics when linked to planning strategies, institutional cooperation, and the enhancement of the territory's endogenous resources, acting as complementary activities to the local production base and expanding the possibilities for economic diversification and income generation in rural areas.
