| Abstract: | This article investigates the role of fashion and Afrofuturism as ontological technologies of resistance and belonging in Afro-referenced audiovisual production, characterized as an investigative study and literature review. The central objective is to analyze how Black sumptuousness and styling operate in the decolonization of the gaze and the reclaiming of identity autonomy, theoretically and methodologically grounded in Afrodiasporic perspectives. To this end, it examines a corpus composed of international and national works, including the films Black Is King and Black Panther, the music video Bluesman, and the fashion editorial Viajantes. This analysis demonstrates that, far from configuring mere futility or market obsolescence, clothing materializes a strategic design of Afrodiasporic power and royalty. It concludes that the aesthetics and complexity of the adornments in these productions consolidate what is articulated as "Quilombo Imagético" (Imagery Quilombo): a visual territory of escape, memory, and affirmation, where fashion, intrinsically allied with Afrofuturism, acts as a non-verbal archive of the struggles and victories of the Black community, ensuring its narrative sovereignty and establishing itself as the projection of a Black Future. |
