A escola diversa e seus desafios: heterogeneidade discente e equidade educacional em uma escola pública estadual de Minas Gerais

Abstract

This work has been developed within the scope of Professional Master Program in Public Education’s Management and Evaluation (PPGP) of the Education and Evaluation Public Policies Center at Federal University of Juiz de Fora (CAEd/UFJF). Likewise, this case study has been carried out regarding student´s heterogeneity observed among attended students in a public school from the Minas Gerais State School Network, in the State School Adalgisa de Paula Duque, located in the city of Lima Duarte-MG. Stands out that the objective of this research aims to identify the main obstacles and challenges faced by educators searching for the effective education that serves the diverse student population in a more equitably way, analyzing how the Pedagogical Management can act willing to minimize these problems arising from serving to this heterogeneous audience.To this purpose, a case study has been used as a methodology; and, as instruments, semi-structured interviews carried out with the management team, teachers and students at Adalgisa de Paula Duque School. The Field Diary has been also adopted for taking notes. From the school's management team, two vice-principals and two pedagogical coordinators who work at the institution have been interviewed. Among the teachers, 5 one have been interviewed, one from each area of knowledge and one from inclusive education. Towards students, 13 high school students have been interviewed. It should be noted that the notes in the Field Diary have been made throughout the period of investigation and research into the management case presented here. In addition, bibliographic and documentary research has been used, which are presented in the body of work. Finally, it is discernible that this study proposes an intervention, so that the problems raised can be alleviated or resolved through the Educational Action Plan (EAP).
