| Resumo: | Os primeiros indícios da doença periodontal podem progredir gradualmente com sintomas sutis, o que pode resultar na falta de percepção pelo paciente e por parte de alguns profissionais. Diante disso, é possível reconhecer a importância da detecção precoce, a fim de evitar a progressão da doença, o que pode gerar danos irreversíveis. Este trabalho aborda a importância do exame periodontal destacando a sondagem periodontal e sua interpretação, o nível de inserção clínica, a avaliação da mucosa ceratinizada, da mobilidade dental, das lesões de bi e trifurcação, a presença de sangramento, o controle de biofilme e o exame radiográfico. Tais considerações são apresentadas sintetizadas sob a forma de artigo científico / capítulo de livro. |
| Abstract: | The first signs of periodontal disease can gradually progress with subtle symptoms, which can result in a lack of awareness by the patient and some professionals. Given this, it is possible to recognize the importance of early detection in order to prevent the progression of the disease, which can cause irreversible damage. This work addresses the importance of periodontal examination, highlighting periodontal probing and its interpretation, the level of clinical attachment, assessment of keratinized mucosa, tooth mobility, bi- and trifurcation lesions, the presence of bleeding, biofilm control and the radiographic examination. Such considerations are presented summarized in the form of a scientific article / book chapter. |
