A cerveja artesanal como potencial souvenir gastronômico no município de Juiz de Fora (MG)

Abstract

The aim of this article is to analyze the potential of craft beers in the city of Juiz de Fora/MG, so that they can possibly become a gastronomic souvenir, by rescuing history, helping us to understand the importance of the product for the city, and consequently reflecting on those who visit it. This study, which is exploratory and descriptive in nature, is based on bibliographical research, together with qualitative research, with semi-structured interviews with people linked to the brewing sector and public managers. In general, there was little incentive in the historical/cultural sphere and institutional support for craft beers as a tourist attraction in Juiz de Fora, as well as investments in infrastructure to boost and touristize the product in the right way, creating experiences that make tourists visit the city again, exclusively to learn about the history of beers and their tradition for the municipality, arousing interest in taking them as souvenirs..
