Pobreza no Brasil: um enfoque dos anos de 2019 a 2022

Abstract

The objective of this Final Course Work (FCT) is to describe the impact of poverty and hunger in the period 2019-2022, describe this problem and its administration in the Bolsonaro government, also making a retrospective analysis of the governments of the New Republic since the neoliberal period of FHC, the Lula-Dilma period and Brazilian neodevelopmentalism, and finally the crisis of the new republic again tending towards neoliberalism with Temer and Bolsonaro and the Bridge to the Future project. Based on this analysis, it demonstrates both how the decisions of the government influence poverty, and how there has never been an effective fight against it, or structural changes in the causes of poverty and hunger. The analysis covers welfare policies, socio-economic theoretical foundations, and expectations that governments had in relation to poverty and how there was an upsurge in poverty in our country during the Covid-19 virus pandemic. It concludes from the analysis that they did not find a definitive way out of poverty due, among other factors, tothe failure to confront social and property relations in Brazil, a secular source of our backwardness and, more recently, the crisis of the New Republic. In order to achieve this objective, the methodological procedures used to apprehend and discuss the object of study were bibliographical and documentary research of a qualitative nature, based on the historicaldialectical materialist method.
