Educação e trabalho interprofissional em saúde: perspectiva de docentes de uma instituição pública de ensino superior de Minas Gerais

Abstract

The aim of this study was to understand the perspective of health care teachers from a public higher education institution in Minas Gerais regarding education and interprofessional work in health. This is a cross-sectional study with a quantitative and qualitative approach, with data collection through an online questionnaire and focus groups. Forty-one teachers responded to the questionnaire, and of these, 12 participated in the focus group. Most participants agreed that interprofessional education involves shared learning between different professions for the development of collaborative skills. From the thematic analysis of the focus groups, six categories emerged: understanding of the concept; experiences; professional skills; teaching- learning-evaluation methodological strategies; strengths and weaknesses of the higher education institution. It is recognized that interprofessional education incorporated into the training process of future health professionals still constitutes a challenge for training institutions.
