O uso de materiais apostilados na educação infantil: reflexões sobre as repercussões para o currículo

Abstract

This is a Course Conclusion Paper, monograph, of a bibliographic nature, which seeks to reflect on the use of handout materials in Early Childhood Education and investigate how the use of these materials can impact the learning of such young children. To support this reflection and the brief analysis of handout material, the official documents for Early Childhood Education and what they predict for the curriculum of this stage in Brazil and in the Municipality of Juiz de Fora are used as the main theoretical reference. Through the website of a Booklet System and news on the topic, we provide an overview of how the use of booklets in this educational stage is currently present. With the increasing use of these materials, it is important to research what their use can have on the development of the children who use them. This research seeks to answer questions such as: What are the implications of using handouts in Early Childhood Education? Is it healthy to adopt this practice for such young children? To answer these questions, we briefly analyzed guidelines for teachers and activities proposed in booklets aimed at children in the 2nd period of a private school. The analysis took place considering the requirements of didactics of fields of experience: playfulness, continuity and significance (Fochi, 2016). We found that the handouts present standardized, decontextualized activities and, in some cases, mistaken the conceptual point of view and do not present proposals that stimulate curiosity, amazement and creativity, in addition to not considering the child as a historical and legal subject, the center of educational planning.
