Aspectos da interseccionalidade no encarceramento feminino em Minas Gerais

Abstract

The present work aims to identify, with the help of intersectionality, the vulnerabilities present in the lives of incarcerated women in Minas Gerais, which, intersected, determine their lives. Intersectionality consists of an overlap of social markers, which seek to analyze the interactions present in certain groups, seeking to understand the inequalities that exist in society. However, with regard to the present study, it is necessary to emphasize that the analysis will be based on a restricted group, that is, women who are in a condition of private freedom in Minas Gerais. In summary, we seek, based on a bibliographical review and survey of official statistical data, to identify and understand, based on the social markers that interconnect, the confirmation of the existing pattern with regard to the identity of women in this environment, in addition to demonstrating that marginalization, a result of the consequences of the social groups in which they find themselves, determines their lives.
