| Resumo: | Este trabalho busca estimar e analisar o comportamento de uma proxy para a taxa neutra de juros no Brasil. Para tanto, calcula-se a proxy da taxa de juros real neutra por meio da equação de Fisher usando a pesquisa Focus/BCB como referência. Parte da premissa de que as expectativas para horizontes mais longos sejam pouco influenciadas por flutuações econômicas de curto prazo. Portanto, foram coletadas expectativas de mercado nos horizontes de três anos-calendário à frente. Os resultados mostram uma estimativa simples a um baixo custo operacional, servindo para uma primeira análise no que diz respeito à condução da política monetária brasileira. |
| Abstract: | This study aims to estimate and analyze the behavior of a proxy for the neutral interest rate in Brazil. To do so, the proxy for the neutral real interest rate is calculated using the Fisher equation using the Focus/BCB survey as a reference. It is based on the premise that expectations for longer horizons are little influenced by short-term economic fluctuations. Therefore, market expectations were collected over the horizons of three calendar years ahead. The results show a simple estimate at a low operating cost, serving as a first analysis with regard to the conduct of the Brazilian monetary policy. |
