Abstract

This work deals with the relationship between tourism, events and catering. Based on the wide range of subdivisions in which the tourism sector is present, the report presents the way in which events tend to increase tourism in cities, decrease seasonality and generate a great boost in the local tourist infrastructure. A greater focus is given to social events, since this work has as its theme a traditional buffet from the city of Juiz de Fora, and these types of events mostly have the presence of this food service. The objective of this study was to present the activities that were developed within a supervised practice in the events sector, more specifically within the food and beverage sector, for the completion of the Tourism course at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora. Functions developed and skills acquired during this process are raised.
