Turismo e vegetarianismo: um estudo das publicações presentes no banco de dados publicações de turismo, do Programa de Pós Graduação em Turismo da Universidade de São Paulo - USP

Abstract

This article aims to scrutinize the existing academic productions about the relationship between vegetarianism and tourism; since the number of adherents of this diet and philosophy grows exponentially, and this field of study may contribute to the advancement of knowledge about the needs, preferences and experiences of vegetarian tourists,promoting the development of strategies and solutions more appropriate to meet the demands of this specific segment in the tourism sector. To this end, a literature review on the subject was carried out, available in the Tourism Publications database of the Graduate Program in Tourism of USP. As a result of the observation, there is the recenticity in the approach to the theme, and the need for detail in the knowledge of the vegetarian subculture on the part of the hosts of destinations, attractions and tourist enterprises, in order to receive these travelers in a hospitable way.
