A educação ambiental crítica na escola centro educacional ambiente positivo

Abstract

Environmental education at school can contribute to the search for the sustainability of life, in addition to providing the development of a critical position, making the subjects involved into citizens capable of re-discussing existing values in their reality. The objective here is to reflect on the role and challenges of Critical Environmental Education at school. The study was carried out through interviews with teachers from the Centro Educacional Ambiente Positivo school in Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais. At the educational institution, we sought to inquire about their Environmental Education practices through dialogue with teachers. As a result of the study, it was possible to know that in the researched school, as expressed by the interviewed teachers, Environmental Education is considered important and works in an interdisciplinary perspective. In addition, the interviewed teachers did not refer to Critical Environmental Education, did not talk about socio-environmental problems, nor about transformation actions.
