| Resumo: | A aplicação do laser de baixa potência tem sido descrita na literatura como uma proposta de tratamento nos quadros dolorosos de Disfunção Temporomandibular(DTM), sendo fundamental a atuação baseada em evidências científicas para melhor resultado no tratamento. Esse ensaio clínico randomizado visou avaliar a eficácia da laserpuntura utilizando laser de baixa potência no tratamento da dor em pacientes com disfunções temporomandibulares e a efetividade da administração concomitante ao tratamento da vitamina B12 Metilcobalamina. Na primeira etapa do estudo, foi aplicado um questionário a todos os participantes, que permitiu avaliar a localização da dor orofacial. Nessa mesma etapa, foi solicitado um exame de sangue para dosagem da vitamina B12, e o resultado foi entregue na segunda etapa, para não influenciar na divisão dos grupos. A segunda etapa iniciou-se com a divisão aleatória dos grupos: Grupo 1: laserpuntura placebo e vitamina B12 placebo; Grupo 2: laserpuntura efetivo e vitamina B12 placebo e Grupo 3: laserpuntura efetivo e vitamina B12 efetivo. Participaram desse estudo 45 pacientes adultos (acima de 18 anos), independente de sexo e de raça, com sinais e sintomas de Disfunção Temporomandibular, onde a dor era a principal queixa. Em todas as sessões, antes e após a aplicação da laserteapia, foi apresentado ao paciente uma escala analógica visual (EVA), e os resultados obitidos em cada sessão, foram registrados. A laserpuntura foi aplicada em pontos da Medicina Tradicinal Chinesa, usados para tratamento das Disfunções Temporomandibulares, usando o aparelho de laser Therapy XP, da marca DMC, com o comprimento de onda infravermelho com energia de 3J em cada ponto. Foram oito sessões de atendimento, sendo duas sessões por semana, no total de 4 semanas. Os grupos 2 e 3 mostraram melhora nos sintomas de dor após o tratamento. Pacientes do grupo 3 na terceira sessão já mostravam o resultado eficaz do tratamento. Isso comprova que a Laserpuntura quando associada ao uso da vitamina B12 se torna mais eficiente, acelerando o processo do tratamento. |
| Abstract: | The application of the laser of low-intensity has been described in the literature as a proposal for the treatment of painful conditions of the temporamandibular disorder (TMD), being essential to act based on scientific evidence for a better result in the treatment. This randomized clinical trial aimed to evaluate the efficacy of laser puncture using low-intensity laser in the treatment of pain in patients with temporamandibular disorders and the efficacy of concomitant administration with the treatment of vitamin B13 methylcobalamin. In the first stage of the study, a questionnaire was applied to the participants, which allowed the assessment of the location of orofacial pain. At this same stage, an request for a blood test to measure vitamin B12 was delivered, and the result was delivered in the second stage, so it wouldn't influence the division of the groups. The second stage began with the random division of groups: Group 1: placebo laser puncture and vitamin B12; Group 2: effective laser puncture and placebo vitamin B12 and Group 3: effective laser puncture and effective vitamin B12. Forty-five adult patients (over 18 years old), regardless of gender and race, with signs and symptoms of Temporomandibular Disorder, where pain was the main complaint, participated in this research. In all sessions, before and after the application of laser therapy, the patient was presented with a visual analogue scale (VAS), and the results obtained in each session, were recorded. Laser puncture was applied to traditional Chinese medicine points, used for the treatment of temporomandibular disorders, using the XP laser therapy device, brand DMC, with an infrared wavelength of 3J in each point. There were eight service sessions, two sessions per week, for a total of 4 weeks. The groups B and C showed very effective treatment. Group C, in the third session already had the effective result of the treatment. This proves that laser puncture, when combined with the use of vitamin B12, becomes more efficient, speeding up the treatment process. |
