Panorama e o projeto integralista: uma análise da revista intelectual

Abstract

Panorama: Coletânea do Pensamento Novo was a magazine geared towards intellectuals published by the Brazilian Integralist Action (AIB, Ação Integralista Brasileira), the most successful fascist movement outside of Europe. Being developed by and for intellectuals, it was a pivotal instrument to form integralist thought and support the theoretical foundation behind implementing the “Integral State”. Its content instigated debates and helped create and develop the theory of integralism, thus becoming a space of sociability that gathered integralist intellectuals and other thinkers who were not part of the movement. This research employs the theory and methodology of intellectual history to investigate Panorama and the ideas it spread, seeking to understand its role in integralism as a publication aimed at intellectuals. It also intends to analyze how its pages helped the circulation of ideas – mainly nationalism and corporatism – which were the foundation stones of not only the magazine itself but also of the integralist State Project.
