Contribuição pedagógica do Sistema de Informações Educacionais de Pernambuco (SIEPE) para a gestão das escolas estaduais da Gerência Regional de Ensino da Mata Sul (GRE- Palmares)

Abstract

The present dissertation addresses the Educational Information System of Pernambuco (SIEPE, in Portuguese), which is presented as a public policy of the state and was developed in order to register, monitor and evaluate the data, situations, indicators and managerial and operational results of the education in Pernambuco, making information available in real time and therefore constituting a management tool and pedagogical contribution. Based on such assumption, this dissertation aimed to investigate SIEPE’s contribution in the pedagogical context to the management at school level. The investigation is justified given the author’s experience with the SIEPE at school level since the beginning of its implementation, until the moment in which the research was conducted. Considering the importance of such system to the activities related to school management, a research was conducted utilizing the case study methodology in order to investigate in general terms, how the system has been utilized in four state schools of the GRE Mata SUL, which use this data base in its practices and also to verify if the system is contributing to offer support to the pedagogical management. Semi structured interviews were conducted with the entire management team in those schools and with technicians from the Regional Educational Management – GRE, in Portuguese. Based on the results found in the research it was verified the need to propose an Educational Action Plan – PAE, in Portuguese aiming to improve the SIEPE, proposing directions, such as: capacitation, elaboration of a tutorial explaining the functionalities of the SIEPE, broadening of its pedagogical functionality and improving the system, creating a virtual library and improving the internet access, proposals which may be adopted by the Education Secretariat, and by the GRE, benefiting the policy in question.
