Desemprego, vidas matáveis e juventude negra da periferia urbana

Abstract

The object of this study is black and peripheral young people who, faced with a divided, prejudiced and unequal society, are subjected to unemployment in these times of structural crisis of capital and work. In this context, the study seeks to understand the historical process that led a large contingent of individuals to become superfluous for capital, generating more social inequality, exclusion and poverty. Those subjects without social value, abandoned by the State, forgotten in the urban peripheries, are socially and racially stigmatized and targets of all types of violence. Many of these young people find the survival path offered by drug trafficking. As a consequence of the trafficking wars, the lives of many black and peripheral youths are lost.
