Do protagonismo à liderança: trajetórias de jovens mulheres em tempos de democracia e de golpe

Abstract

The present thesis problematizes the construction process of young women as active political people in the Brazilian context. Young women are in a intersection, they are young and they are women at the same time; but, many times, they are not present in the policies created for these groups and this happens in a national context in which Brazil, in a recent past, had assumed the need for the formation of public policies for women and youth. Besides that, young women have a trajectory of active political participation in the Brazilian scenario, which this thesis proves when mapping the trajectory of this segment within national politics. Through bibliographic research I identify that the formation of young women as active political people is dated to the beginning of the 2000s. I also observe that the performance of young women in student occupations in 2015 and 2016 demonstrates the strength and potency of young women as active political subjects, being considered a process that consolidates the presence of young women and, therefore, that identity. Therefore, it became important to interview women from both profiles - women who were young in the early 2000s and young women who worked in the 2015 and 2016 occupations - in order to identify the movement that culminates in the formation and consolidation of this segment. Among the methodologies used is the semi-structured interview that helps me to form a dialogue with the research interlocutors, this tool is meant based on feminist criticism of science. The research is also constituted from a feminist perspective and highlights the importance of the feminist movement for the formation and consolidation of the political young women. The theoretical interlocution is based on dialogue with intellectuals who help to think about the formation and performance of young women taking into account the intersectionality that crosses them. They are intellectuals who tend to pluralize the youth, the feminism, the politics and other elements that are mobilized for this construction, questioning their singular formation. The interviews allow us to understand the perceptions of my interlocutors in the dialogue with the references used to construct the thesis. They are narratives based on their memories and do not intend to establish a truth, but the meanings attributed by them to the issues experienced both in the formation of this process in the 2000s and in the occupations of 2015 and 2016. Their speeches show the systematic struggle for inclusion of young women and the longing to have their voices heard and respected in a continuous attempt to promote a subaltern rewriting, in which their diverse belongings can be considered in the creation of public policies and school organization. The thesis aims to contribute to the formation of a history about young women as active participants in the national scenario, as well as to their visibility in the political arena. Aiming that this political woman to achieve, through hers performance, more democratic standards in its existence in the social, thus allowing Brazilian society to be a better space for women, in all their compositions, to exist.
