Séries animadas no cenário audiovisual brasileiro: uma análise sobre a viabilidade e obstáculos de sua realização

Abstract

The national animation industry focused on the production of shorts, feature films and series has been growing over the years, appearing as an incredibly viable alternative investment of the sector, both national and international. However, we are still in a poorly structured field unable to self-manage, mostly caused by our late initiation into the animation industry. Among other developments, this paper aims to analyse part of this sector, focusing on the production of national animated series, basing on a comparative analysis of two productions from the same period: “Irmão do Jorel” and “Show da Luna”, both featured on 2014. To provide an analytical understanding of the proposed comparative, an expository survey of the national animation industry will be used as a reference base postulating relation between the beginning of the national and international animated series industry. The operation of this animation field at current time, the influence of new technologies on the production line, the cost related to labour, the stages of production, commercial feasibility, the forms of subsidies that keep the industry going on, target audiences, featuring extent and profitability.
