A preservação do patrimônio cultural como instrumento de preservação da memória: 140 anos da Estação Ferroviária de Bicas, MG

Abstract

This study aims to show the importance of this historical and cultural heritage by working with students from the 6th grade of elementary school. A great gift for its history, the importance of the railway and all that it represented for the development and especially for the existence of the city of Bicas, rescuing the individual and collective memory of the inhabitants of this city. In this sense, such acquired cultural heritage can provide significant information about the history of the city of Bicas and its inhabitants. In this context, they contribute to the formation of the identity of the residents, as well as to the formation of groups, social categories and the rescue of memory, thus triggering a connection between the citizen and their roots. In view of this, its preservation becomes fundamental with regard to the cultural development of a people, as it reflects on their socio-cultural formation.
