Abstract: Ferréz is an author who published works associated with the daily life of the inhabitants of the periphery. One of his works is titled Capão Pecado, making a remission to the neighborhood where he lives, Capão Redondo, in São Paulo. Thus, the central question of this thesis is: how does Ferréz establish his mimetic play in his narratives? Thus, the present thesis seeks to investigate first the realism in Ferréz starting from the denomination of "new realists" given by the literary critic. This denomination implies to consider the characteristics that make a work realistic and the factors that could add the aspect of novelty and this realism. From Roman Jacobson, in his text "Of the artistic realism", what is perceived is this denomination can be a misunderstanding. From a quotation from Karl Erik Schollhammer and Jacobson's perspective of literary realism, the following concepts are worked on: Homi K. Bhabha's "place of enunciation"; "Effect of the real" by Roland Barthes; "Engagement", by Jean Paul Sartre; "Representation", by Gayatri Spivak; "The return of the author" by Diana Klinger and "Shock of the Real", Beatriz Jaguaribe. The second chapter seeks to highlight the narrative strategies that underpin the mimetic pact in Capão Sin (2000), Practical Handbook on Hate (2003), Emerald Dawn (2004), Nobody is Innocent in São Paulo (2006) Chronicler of A Bad Time (2009), God went to lunch (2011), The magic pot (2012) and The rich also die (2015). These strategies include: the narrator's speech as similar to the activist author's discourse, the recurrence of characters that were part of Ferréz's life in the Capão Redondo neighborhood and the correlation of real facts with elements presented in fiction. The third chapter will analyze one of these strategies in specific: the way of narrating the violence carried out by the characters, since violence presents itself as a component strongly associated to the legitimacy adhered to Ferréz's discourse. The last chapter of the thesis seeks to establish a relation of the previous chapters with the theory of the reception, of Wolfgang Iser, in the act of the reading (1996) and of the theory of the dialogism, of Bakhtin, in Aesthetics of the verbal creation (2003). These two authors deal with aspects associated with the play of influences that the triad author, work, reader, suffers from either the implicit text or the dialogical conception of the discourses.
