O surrealismo na formação do estilo Lacaniano

Abstract

Throughout his work, Jacques Lacan left a vast legacy of fundamental contributions to the development of psychoanalysis—not only in France, where he built his career, but on a global scale. As immense as this legacy is the recognized difficulty in comprehending his texts. His writing style, marked by a high conceptual density and a singular intellectual creativity, reflected the influence of various avant-garde movements across the most varied fields of knowledge. Consequently, his work was considered by many of his interlocutors—such as Foucault, Lévi-Strauss, and Jean Hyppolite—to be almost insurmountable. If, on the one hand, this style represented a hindrance for many psychiatrists and psychoanalysts of his time, on the other, it served as a veritable calling card within the Surrealist movement. This dissertation seeks to investigate this style, from the difficulties pointed out by his interlocutors to the resonances of his engagement with central figures of Surrealism, such as Salvador Dalí, André Breton, and Ferdinand Alquié. The proposal is to explore both biographical and theoretical aspects in order to understand how Surrealism influenced the mode of theorization developed by Lacan.
