Alienação parental como forma de violência doméstica: percepções e crenças de profissionais que trabalham na vara de família

Abstract

Parental alienation (PA) is a complex phenomenon that presents psychological and moral impacts on those involved. Therefore, the present research aimed to capture the beliefs of professionals working with families and investigate the possibility of parental alienation being practiced as an expression of domestic violence. With a qualitative approach, 19 semi-structured interviews with the professionals were carried out and the analysis chosen was Bardin content (2011). The results showed that 100% of the sample considered that parental alienation is a form of domestic violence and it can happen before the divorce, being considered a manifestation of intimate partner violence (IPV). Some gaps have been clarified, among them the lack of psychological instruments capable of assisting the work of law professionals and other professionals. Thus, it is important to develop studies that can elaborate tools that offer greater objectivity to the analyzes made by the judiciary . In view of the systematic review that served as the basis for this research, it was not possible to find a relevant experimental studies that establish a causal relationship between the constructs of parental alienation and domestic violence. Therefore, more relevant experimental studies are also needed with representative samples aimed at establishing the relationship between these two constructs.
