Resistências narrativas e protagonismo feminino: os conteúdos audiovisuais do coletivo Think Olga

Abstract

The main objective of this work is take a look at the audiovisual narratives produced and conveyed by the digital collective Think Olga. In order to carry out this study, we used bibliographical research, audiovisual materiality analysis and a focus group session with women as methods. The purpose was to understand to what extent these narratives contribute to give visibility and voice to women, thus assuming a stance of resistance to a dominant system that excludes them and makes them invisible. At first, we sought to analyse a brief historical course of the silence of women, passing through the symbolic construction of what it is to be a woman. Also passing by the 'avenues of silence', taking into account intersectional questions. To think about the issue of female subalternity and gender inequality, reflections on the disputes and power relations present in society are necessary. Starting from the conceptual comprehension of power and hegemony, and understanding that any relation of power and hegemony is susceptible of resistance, our proposal was to shift the look to media initiatives that seek to resist this scenario, highlighting the female protagonism - as it's the case of the empirical object of this research, the collective Think Olga.
