Metal extremo: estética “pesada” no Black Metal

Abstract

Sound is not easy theme to narrate being object fluid and difficult to be captured. In this research I describe and analyze elements that make up the style known as Black Metal, from sound to posters of shows, album covers, lyrics content, symbolism and shared aesthetic aspects that make this subgenre a relevant expression of the Metal. Initially, I take as my starting point my trajectory in Metal to describe how the like for Metal is building through experiences of shows and contact with subgenres that develop listening skills and build particular like within the genre Metal. In a second moment, I present the history of Black Metal with its controversial events and its aesthetic characteristics. Finally, through the ethnography of a show by the band juizforana Superius, I search to analyze these global Black Metal characteristics in a local context, with observations on the relations between public and musicians and the Black Metal scene of Juiz de Fora.
