Abstract

This study aimed to reveal the meanings of nursing care for women facing breast cancer, from diagnosis to treatment. Method of qualitative research, based on the phenomenology of Martin Heidegger. Was established as the referral hospital for cancer care, philanthropic and nonprofit, in Minas Gerais, with 12 women participating in follow-up phase after breast cancer setting. The phenomenological interview was to guiding questions: how was it for you nursing care throughout the journey, since you discovered a change in the breast, consultations, examinations, treatment, up to this day? That nursing most helped throughout the process of their disease? What is the meaning of nursing care throughout the disease process? Then emerged the essential structures in order to build Units Meanings. A vague understanding and median of these meanings enabled the preparation of the thread that led to the second moment methodical, interpretive or hermeneutic understanding. The mode of being-there-with-a-team-of-nursing Secondary and Tertiary Care is unveiled by the woman, showing the way of authentic preoccupation. Reveals anticipative-liberatory concern in the care of professionals. As being-thrown-in-there-hospital environment envisions an authentic care, however, to be launched in the system-of-health-des-experiences the attention. In the home environment, care comes from members of their domestic world, so that the woman experiences the substitutive care and highlights the in-visibility of nursing professionals in Primary Care by unveiling a care that is lost in the mode of being of inauthenticity. The be-wife moved in talk shows and ambiguity when talking about nursing work. Reveals substitute care physician to announce the diagnosis and experiences impropriety-unto-death, terror and horror at the discovery of the disease and the possibility of death. From the senses unveiled in the study, it is believed that the oncology nursing in Secondary and Tertiary Care moves toward a liberating care, which considers the existential dimension of being and does not restrict the actions that comprise the hard technology. Has a sensitive eye to the time that women go through and shows its potential in assisting her to open up to the possibilities as be-released-in-the world. It shows the dislocation of the assistance network, so the reference and counter system was built from the perspective of one, not considering the singularities that involve being.
