dc.description.abstract	This paper presents a critical evaluation of how environmental issues are being handled in geography when guided in the discourse of human intervention. Much of geographical studies about the natural framework and environmental problems have been unable to comprehend the man in the production of geographic space without subordinating to a antinomian view concerning the nature in which it is only one of its elements among others, leaving no scope therefore to historical and social determinations concerning the production of the geographic space. It contributes to this conception equivocal speech ecological environment that reduces the dialectic between society and nature to a mere human intervention in the natural frame, restricting the whole historical process of the social production of nature and geographical space to an "anthropic factor."	pt_BR
dc.description.resumo	O presente artigo propõe uma avaliação crítica sobre a forma como a problemática ambiental vem sendo tratada em geografia quando pautada no discurso da intervenção antrópica. Boa parte dos estudos geográficos acerca do quadro natural e dos problemas ambientais tem sido incapaz de compreender o homem na produção do espaço geográfico sem subordiná-lo a uma visão antinômica inerente à própria natureza, no interior da qual ele é apenas um de seus elementos integrantes dentre outros, não deixando margem, portanto, às determinações históricas e sociais concernentes à produção do espaço. Concorre para esta concepção equívoca um discurso ecológico-ambiental que reduz a dialética sociedade-natureza a uma mera intervenção humana nos quadros naturais, restringindo todo o processo histórico de produção social da própria natureza e do espaço geográfico a um "fator antrópico".	pt_BR
